Here at Motodrome, we love classic French cars, and hence we offer this LHD 1973 Citroen DS20 Pallas semi-automatic, finished in Gris Palladium metallic with it’s original full Tabac leather interior.

It represents one of the ‘sweet spots’ in the Citroen DS model lineup, as a) it’s a late car fitted with carburettor rather than fuel injection, b) it has the desirable semi-automatic transmission.

This one is the ‘Pallas’ model, giving a higher trim level, and has a very plush leather interior along with all it’s Pallas body and interior fittings

As ever, the Hydropneumatic suspension provides an amazing ride and, with power steering and brakes, and the clutchless gearbox, it’s light and easy to drive. And I can confirm it really turns heads.

This one was imported into the UK and registered here in 1998, and thereafter seems to have been owned by enthusiasts, (the V5 shows 4 UK owners) as the history post-import is really comprehensive and almost all by DS specialists.

Odometer reading 62000 miles which is probably incorrect given the speedo has been swapped out for an MPH one. We think the total mileage covered is more like 160000kms in reality.

Originally it was a kind of dark orange/light red with a silver roof, but in 2018 it received a full repaint in Gris Palladium metallic, which suits it much better in my opinion. We have some pictures in the history file of how it looked beforehand.

We’re told the previous owner (who had it for 5 years) used it for touring in both the UK and France, and we can see from the history that he spent a 5-figure sum on getting it right to enable it to carry that task out with aplomb.

It runs and drives beautifully, and gets admiring glances wherever I park it. Not for nothing were these voted ‘the most beautiful car of all time’ by eminent car designers in 2009, and they remain one of the coolest classics you can own.
