Sometimes, after a lifetime in the motor trade, certain cars come into stock that you just fall in love with.

For us at Motodrome, that’s invariably any type of classic Citroen, and so when we came across this 1987 CX25 Prestige Turbo 2 we had to bring it into our collection.

For many Citroen aficionados, this is one of the ‘holy grails’ of the marque, as in RHD form only 5 were built.

They combine the best of both worlds, with the LWB ‘prestige’ body giving massive rear legroom (it’s also known as the Presidential spec) combined with the punch of the GTI Turbo 2’s engine, and all were fitted with 5-speed manual transmission.

With it’s high spec, wonderful looks, and slightly bonkers interior, it represents peak Citroen – not something you can say about today’s bland offerings.

Finished in Pearl Grey metallic with the correct black vinyl roof, and full black leather interior, it’s fully loaded. Obviously it has the famed Hydropneumatic suspension and brakes, and Diravi power steering, but also alloy wheels (shod with a near new set of the correct metric tyres), rear spoiler, ABS, air conditioning, which seems to be working) electric windows, remote alarmed locking, rear passenger footrests, and rear sunblinds.

We have a very big file of history for the car, back to the original dealer pack including stamped service book and handbooks. The service book is stamped to 74660 miles, and thereafter it’s almost exclusively been maintained by the usual specialists such as Pleiades, The CX Centre, and latterly Chevronics.

Recent work by Chevronics includes a new clutch and a suspension overhaul in Sept 2025 at 119000 miles, new engine and gearbox mounts, fresh engine oil and gearbox oil Oct 2025 at 119500 miles

To sum up, it’s a vanishingly rare classic Citroen, that looks fantastic, and drives really well with great punch from the 2.5 turbo motor, and has the sort of ride quality that Citroen were famous for. So, tons of gallic charm.
