Description

Handbuilt to a high professional standard by qualified Motor Engineer, using only genuine MG mechanical components throughout. Please do not confuse this unique vehicle with a cheap kit car. 1930’s 2 seater pre-war style MG body with bags of character, 1800 MGB engine rebuilt to standard spec with overdrive. Vehicle constructed over 30 years ago but continually improved ever since, with its low mileage it still looks and drives like new.
Correctly DVLA registered as an MG Roadster circa 1971 so Historic classification with free road tax.

The chassis was specially constructed by a steel fabrication firm, in 10 gauge box section welded steel. A donor MGB was acquired and all mechanical components removed and meticulously overhauled prior to being incorporated into the new sportscar. There is a fistful of bills confirming the thoroughness of the rebuild, after which, it was inspected by an independent firm of Engineers, who testified the vehicle was built to a high standard with a strong accent on strength, including practices in excess of normal automotive construction.

Originally the body was skinned in aluminium but was later replaced with a superbly crafted fibreglass shell which would not look out of place on an Italian Supercar. The original 14” MGB wheels were changed for 15” Morgan wire wheels (£900) which required the first mudguards to be changed. MGA front coil springs replaced the MGB ones and rear suspension converted from lever arm to telescopic dampers. The bespoke chrome on brass radiator cowl was specially made for the car by the engineer, this involved 2 terms at a local Technical College night school with the radiator as his sole project.
Spec includes full dash instrumentation showing good oil pressure reading, wood-rim steering wheel, Klaxon as well as normal horn, detachable wind deflectors, immobiliser and gear lever lock, radiator fan, seatbelts, 2 underfloor tool lockers. Professionally trimmed interior with new bucket seats.
Comes with Photo record of the rebuild, V5, old logbooks and tax discs, Tonneau cover.
