The classic Lotus notion of 'simplify and add lightness' but with a bit more practicality. The Lotus Elan +2 takes all of the brilliance of the standard Elan roadsters in a sharper 4 seater package. The example we have here today is quite a rare later car in desirable 'S' form, boasting the ultimate Lotus Big Valve engine and a five speed manual transmission.

Its a striking thing to look at, finished in a brilliant red with silver roof panel. Its a lovely looking car and can be considered fundamentally presentable, though like all Lotuses and fibreglass cars of this heritage there is some blemishing and flawing to the paint finish throughout. The interior and cabin look well.

Mechanically things seem to be in good order with the car. We have taken it for a short test drive around our farm and it performed nicely; starting, running, driving and stopping. Though at present it should be noted the pop up headlights can be temperamental to fold down.
