The original seats have been replaced with later MGB reclining seats with headrests, finished in luxury cream leather with contrasting emerald green piping, complemented by deep-pile emerald green carpets throughout with matching over mats bound in dark green.

Fine details include a Mota-Lita leather rim 3-spoke steering wheel, adjustable electric power steering, red key battery isolator, and MG embossed stainless steel sill plates.

Further enhancements include Securon inertia-reel seatbelts with polished aluminium seatbelt guides, door cards retrimmed in perfectly matching luxury cream vinyl with contrasting emerald green lower carpeting, new door cappings and new door furniture. The boot area has been fitted with a moulded black carpet set and tailored spare wheel cover.

The new dash with a perfect dash top houses the crystal clear SMITHS gauges, all switches have been replaced and work as they were intended, including the Smiths heater... A stunning and beautifully presented cabin.

Exterior

Restored over a 5 year period and completed in the summer of 2024. A new British Motor Heritage Bodyshell has been used and painted in rich dark British Racing Green.

The paint finish and bodywork is simply gorgeous throughout with perfect shut lines and gaps. The underside is solid throughout, professionally clear undersealed during restoration and now treated with a fresh coat of Lanoguard.

'Originality' was key during the restoration; original or replacement Lucas lights with the exception of better performing Wipac halogen headlights, original brightwork replated or replaced with quality items, new mohair hood with crystal clear screens and new hood frame, period hood envelope and full tonneau cover, original Triplex side windows, new laminated Triplex windscreen; and twin chrome door mirrors.

Wheels, Tyres & Brakes

WHEELS - The new 60-spoke chrome 14" wire wheels and chrome 2 ear spinners are in fantastic blemish free order, sitting on excellent, all matching 165/80 R14 tyres.

BRAKES - During the extensive restoration, the servo-assisted brake system was fully renewed, new Lockheed master cylinder, front brake calipers, pads and discs, rear drums, and brake lines, needless to say, the braking power is excellent.

HANDLING - Fully rebuilt suspension and adjustable electric power steering, driving is precise and responsive... She handles beautifully.

Engine & Transmission

Fitted with a new Ivor Searle correct 5-bearing engine in September 2026 by our team. 1.8-litre B-Series o.h.v. straight four-cylinder 1798cc and has covered a mere 50 miles since, complete with a 1-year unlimited mileage warranty from Ivor Searle. The carburettors are fitted with an MG logo K&N air filter set and were fully rebuilt, balanced and set up at the same time.

During the restoration process, the overdrive was rebuilt, electronic ignition fitted, new oil cooler, new radiator, new clutch and master cylinders, starter motor, alternator etc. The list goes on and on.

Needless to say, she responds superbly, the original 4-speed gearbox selects perfectly and pulls strongly in every gear, light and precise clutch, idles faultlessly, and starts easily from hot or cold.

Overdrive in 3rd and 4th gears, which operates in and out with ease.

She sounds magical through the stainless steel 3-branch manifold and full stainless steel exhaust system... Such fun to drive.

Summary

Registered new on 9th September 1965, an original home market UK Mark 1 MGB Roadster, notably, only two previous keepers in the last 30 years, of which the last carried out the 5-year restoration.
