1947 Riley RMA woodie utility estate with coachwork by Massey the sole survivor of 2 cars produced.finished in beige with original red leather and new red carpets . The ash frame is in lovely condition as is the timber panelling. Split tailgate perfect for picnics , watching polo or lugging stuff about, lovely and unique wood slatted head lining, a stylish and handsome motorcar.
The chassis was ordered new from Riley in October 1947 by Lt Col S.E. Scammel of East Knoyle he entrusted the village garage at Netherhampton nr Salisbury to fit and assemble the Massey body. The Riley once completed was used by the family fo daily transport and to transport the dogs between houses in Wiltshire and Scotland.
This has been a well loved car with the original family retaining her for 70 years , eventually selling her in 2017.
The car has been well maintained over the period with an engine rebuild in the 1970ies and again in the 1990ies. The woodie runs and drives well , the engine is quiet and ticks over like a Swiss watch.
The woodie has been in constant limited use and as such is very useable, having made frequent trips to Goodwood and other events ( a round trip of 230 miles) she has a new set of correct Avontyres , new fuel pump and other sundries.
She comes complete with a current V5C , original Buff log book, original Riley warranty letter and other documents and papers.
She is of coarse MOT exempt and qualifies for Free road tax and is also ULEZ compliant.
