Description

An exceedingly rare twin carb straight six Triumph roadster. There's very little not to like here. The Triumph TR250 was the TR5's North American Counterpart, produced for a single year between 1967 & 1968. These cars receive high praise among enthusiasts and have become a sought after piece on the collectors market. Of the very few available for sale currently, this one must be one of the most interesting and exciting.

A 1968 car with just one UK keeper, SYC 301F has been subject to an extensive restoration and RHD conversion, making it a thoroughly enticing example of the model. An ideal summer show piece, it now needs some general tidying and light finishing to make it a truly remarkable TR250.

Cosmetically the car can be considered fundamentally presentable throughout, finished in a classic white colourway with complementing black upholstery throughout. Whilst fundamentally good, the repaint in white isn't of the best standard, with a few blemishes and drip marks visible in places which could be improved upon, though we feel it is a striking car as is. The folding soft top roof is in good standing, with a very light tear being the only issue we could see with it cosmetically.

Mechanically the TR looks to be in very good order. The previous keeper tells us the engine has been rebuilt and balanced by TWR and has covered less than 200 miles since. Paired with an aftermarket upgraded exhaust, it can be considered a serious bit of kit. We have taken it for a short test drive around our farm and it performed nicely indeed; starting, running, driving and stopping. There are a few issues that could improved upon - at present the overdrive is not functional, a few of the gauges are temperamental and the brakes could be adjusted a little.
