A true Porsche collectors dream come true, or their child’s dreams or just the inner child in all of us petrolhead types? All of the above, surely? What I wouldn’t have given to have this as a youngster, what an epic bit of kit! In 1981 to celebrate their 6th le Mans win, Porsche manufactured a very limited number of these very cool ½ scale replicas of the 936, dubbed the 936 Junior. It is rumoured that only between 50 and 100 were built and very rarely are they seen for sale, so for those that think they have a rare Porsche, this may have to be added to the man cave!

This car has been stripped and prepped by our workshop in the way a full-size car would have been! So, it runs and drives beautifully, with rebuilt gear linkage, carb, steering rack and more, so the car is on the button and good to go, if you don’t want it to collect dust in a collection, it’s prepped for some fun.

What fun you could have too, with a two-speed manual box, three pedals, rear wheel drive, disc brake, linkage driven coil suspension on all four corners and a top speed in excess of 30 mph, this is quite some toy! In true Porsche fashion, it even includes the original owner’s manual, which very few still have! This is the real deal!


TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION:

With 5hp, three pedals, decent suspension, fully working lights, horn and a disc brake at the back, this is a proper bit of kit. The body is fibreglass and the rear wing is even made from carbon fibre, which for a toy in 1981 is pure excess! There was absolutely no holding back when building these 936 Juniors. Even the engine gets a twin exit exhaust.

The car even comes with a limited slip rear axle, rack and pinion steering and therefore drives like a real car. It’s a true marvel!

In great, but original condition, when are you likely to see another, especially with the owner’s manual too? If there’s a Porsche person in your life, let them know about this before the opportunity disappears…
