DESCRIPTION:

It’s well known that here at HPC Classics we really love a Griff, having owned two myself, a Pre-Cat 400 and a 500 both in dark metallic green too. So, it’s safe to say that I don’t have a favourite, but if there was the perfect Griff, this wouldn’t be far off! Hats off to its current keeper too, for keeping things nice and original wherever possible, whilst updating and upgrading everything on the car, so it as close to a new Griffith as you can possibly buy!

The car presents beautifully throughout, wonderful panel fit and a tidy interior with a brilliantly detailed engine bay (housing a freshly rebuilt 5.0 Rover V8, built by Woody & his team at TVR101) you really will struggle to find a better presented car. The whole car had a body off chassis restoration last year too, not a nut or bolt was missed. Once you’re strapped inside the leather cosseting interior the driver’s seat is fresh, no tired squabs or bolsters, comfort is a 10/10, especially when coupled with all of the new suspension and bushings, the ride is sublime. Wind the engine up and not only does it move in such a way that would have frightened you in 1998, it would have frankly scared Maranello silly too, as a Griff 500 was faster than a Testarossa to 60mph! With all of that grunt and such low weight, thankfully with power steering too, the car gives far more feedback than any modern car could ever wish to afford the driver (unless you’re looking at a GM.50s perhaps)…

So, you recognise M99 GRF? Wherever you look for Griff content, you’re likely to bump into this car. M99 GRF was used as the TVR Car Club’s advertisements flying the Union flag in their 60th anniversary celebrations! So not only is this a fabulous car in its own right, it has a history file richer than the Roman empire, with the engine still on its running in miles, it really is fabulous in every way!

TECHNICAL SPEC:

This cracking example has been fully rebuilt from the ground up in the past 4 years of ownership and has receipts for over £40k’s worth of work, to bring the car to as close to a new standard as you could ask for. The current owner has done all of the hard work, so you don’t have to! But don’t worry, it’s not for sale because he doesn’t like it, it's that HPC have already filled his garage space with a Sagaris, Aston Martin V8V and he also has a Tuscan MK2 too! So, it is coming from a good home, in fact, he’s the regional organiser for the Surrey region of the TVRCC, it’s that well-kept!

To detail some of the work carried out, see the list below and anything you can think of will have been ticked off:

• Full engine rebuild by TVR 101 in March 2026 with 1 year warranty

Running on the very rare factory BBS wheels with TVR centre and dust caps, the car really does look as special as it is to drive. In order to get the car 100% spot on, HPC Classics will be fitting a new throttle cable and carrying out a full 4-wheel geometry set up, so that you can be safe in the knowledge that it will drive as well as it looks.

The car comes equipped with the largest history file we’ve seen for a car of this age, plus the original space saver spare with its own cover (unused) and the original tools in the original bag.

This is a car for the true TVR enthusiast or car collector, sure to continue to appreciate, whilst being so useable and enjoyable. Classic driving, true speed, the best noise known to man and a superb history that will likely be unrivalled.
