The R107 has firmly cemented itself as a favourite amongst collectors and those looking for a thoroughly good and usable classic roadster with great looks, golden era Mercedes reliability and solid, fun mile munching capability. If you like the idea of an R107 but are hesitant on the idea of a convertible, then the C107 SLC provides all of the good parts of the iconic SL but in a more solid, arguably smarter hardtop coupe package.

This 1980 SLC has a great deal going for it. On top of the general rarity and cool factor that comes with the SLC nameplate, this particular car boasts a rare brown and tan colour scheme, iconic 4.5 litre V8 engine, and eligibility for tax, MOT and ULEZ exemption. These 107s are becoming incredibly popular as usable every day classics and this rare brown number holds great potential to become one such car.

The car can be considered fundamentally OK from an aesthetic perspective. The lesser seen dark brown hue is certainly striking, especially paired with the tan brown interior. Cosmetically the car is well but not perfect, with signs of blemishing, age related marking and a little bit of bubbling making itself known in places, however it is arguably usable in its current form. The interior is OK and presents in largely original form, with some more notable wear to the rear seat cushioning.

Mechanically the car seems to be in good form. It has been used sparingly in recent years however we have taken it for a short test drive and it performed well; starting, running, changing gear, driving and stopping.
