Interior & Equipment

The original interior has completely retrimmed by CCHL as part of the extensive 2022 restoration. The seats are beautifully finished in fine-grade black leather with contrasting pale blue piping, complemented by deep-pile black carpets throughout with matching over mats bound in black. Fine details include a body coloured dashboard facia, walnut gear knob, leather padded opening centre armrest, quality wood rim steering wheel and chrome MG embossed sill plates.

Further enhancements include new inertia-reel seatbelts with MG logo seatbelt guides, door cards retrimmed with contrasting pale blue tramline piping and new door furniture. The interior is incredible throughout and presents unmarked.

All clocks and gauges have been replaced with new Smiths items with cream dials and a digital milometer. All switches have been replaced and work as they were intended, including the Smiths heater... A stunning and beautifully presented cabin.

Exterior

The original body shell was stripped and bare metal restored in 2022 by CCHL, then repainted in factory MG Honolulu Blue (Code BU42).

The paint finish and bodywork are still outstanding today with factory panel fit, perfect shut lines and gaps. The underside is equally as impressive, detail painted throughout and protected by a freshly applied coat of Lanoguard.
Bright work all around is in perfect blemish free order having either been replated or replaced with quality new items.

All glass is again unmarked, opening quarter lights operate perfectly, all exterior lights are correct Lucas units with the exception of better performing Wipac 7" Crystal Clear Halogen headlights.

Fitted with a new quality black mohair roof with perfectly clear screens, new hood frame and supplied with an original black vinyl BW(E) full tonneau cover with headrest pockets.

Wheels, Tyres & Brakes

The new 72-spoke chrome 15" wire wheels and chrome 2 ear spinners are in fantastic blemish free order. Sitting on excellent, all matching premuim Firestone Roadhawk 185/65 R15 tyres.

During the extensive restoration, the servo-assisted brake system was fully renewed, new master cylinder, front brake calipers, pads and discs, rear drums, and brake lines, needless to say the braking power is excellent. Fully rebuilt suspension and steering, driving is precise and responsive; she handles beautifully.

Engine & Transmission

Fitted with a new Ivor Searle 1.8 litre B-Series o.h.v. straight four-cylinder 1798cc engine and has covered a mere 2922 miles since.

During the restoration process, CCHL fully rebuilt the gearbox, Laycock overdrive, axle unit, new clutch and master cylinder, electronic ignition, new oil cooler, reconditioned alternator, rebuilt starter motor, fully rebuilt carburettors, etc. The list goes on and on.

Needless to say she responds superbly, pulls strongly in every gear, starts easily hot or cold, has perfect oil pressure and idles faultlessly. Overdrive in 3rd and 4th gears, which operates in and out with ease, the gearbox and clutch are light and precise.

She sounds magical through the full stainless steel exhaust... Such fun to drive.
