Description
The Panther Westwinds car company was a truly remarkable thing. A British manufacturer creating some truly eye catching and radical automobiles with a host of equally fun drivelines, they made things for people who wanted to stand out, and arguably one of their most successful and sought after models is the Kallista. This 1983 Kallista is an incredibly early example of the breed. Now being offered to market with just two previous owners, as a running driving presentation that could arguably be used and lightly improved as and when by its next loving owner.
Finished in a classic dark green colour scheme with contrasting black soft top, the Panther can be considered fundamentally OK cosmetically. There are some areas of blemishing and marking commensurate with age however it remains a thoroughly striking car in its current form. The aforementioned soft top unlatches and folds with ease.
Inside the Kallista is similarly presented, OK with blemishing and tarnishing visible in areas of the trim and upholstery that could be improved/cleaned should a new owner wish to head down the recommissioning route with the car.
Mechanically the Panther appears well. Boasting the 2.8 litre Cologne V6 Ford engine and a manual transmission. We have taken it for a short test drive around our farm and it performed OK; starting comfortably, running and driving, though it should be noted that the clutch is a little heavy.
Following limited use in recent years, a good going over is advised before a return to the road.
