The interior of this GTi is simply remarkable. The Spring of 2023 saw in excess of £8,000 lavished on creating this show stopping masterpiece.

The original sports GTi seats have been reupholstered in fine tan leather with smooth bolsters, single stitch diamond quilted centres and headrests, retrimmed original door cars to match, Alcantara tan headlining and sun visors, original steering wheel retrimmed in smooth cross stitched tan leather and Alcantara, original golf ball gear shift knob with tan leather gaiter... Simply amazing.

The original VW black carpets are very good throughout protected with a full set of bespoke black carpeted floor mats with tan leather trim. The original fascia and trim sections present perfectly, the soft touch dash is unmarked and crack free, digital computer works as intended and fitted with a Blaupunkt SKAGEN 400 DAB sound system with Bluetooth and Apple iPod support.

Exterior

Finished in original factory Schwartz Black (code L041), the paintwork has a deep uniform gloss shine and perfect panel fit.

The jet black Mohair convertible hood fitted March 2018 looks superb and presents as new. The framework is excellent and effortlessly operates manually to fold away neatly under the bespoke tan tonneau cover.

The original option code sticker and factory inspection stamp remain in the boot area, the bumpers, wheel arch trims, rubber and chrome side mouldings and all other body trim sections are excellent and scuff free.

All glass, lights and original decals are perfect. It's evident that the car has been protected from an early age with a Ziebart type clear coat in all internal and potential water trap areas...

Wheels, Tyres & Brakes

Wheels - Fitted with Lenso 15-inch BSX crosswire gloss black/polished alloy wheels, fitted with excellent all matching quality Michelin Pilot Sport 195/50 R15 tyres. The original refurbished flawless Tarantula alloy wheels with original VW centre caps are also included.

Brakes - Excellent all round having a strong peddle feel pulling sharply and true.

Engine & Transmission

The legendary 4-cylinder 1.8 Bosch Fuel Injected engine producing 112 bhp is smooth and performs strongly, delivering an excellent and very responsive driving experience.

Starting on the key first time and idles perfectly. A top speed of 113 mph and 0-60 in 9 seconds make this a fun car which cannot fail to impress.

The 5 speed manual gearbox changes perfectly and the clutch is smooth in operation. Great fun to drive.

The engine and engine bay are very clean with evidence of original clear coat protection.

Summary

This beautiful MK1 Golf GTi was first registered on 21st January 1985.

The comprehensive history file dates back over 20 years and contains the original A5 wallet complete with the original instruction manual, handbooks, original sales brochure, original key, master key and key code, 21 past MOT certificates the oldest being 17th October 2000 at 24472 miles plus many invoices for servicing and maintenance over the years.

Next MOT due March 2026, and of course this GTi is HPI Clear with certificate included.

This Mighty Dub Fest 2023 Peoples Choice show winning GTi is unique and a little bit special, it presents beautifully and has clearly been cherished by its former keepers.
