The deep bucket electric seats with integrated headrests are finished in Tanin Red/Black leather upholstery and are stunning thanks to the low 13,290 miles and pampered ownership. All simple controls are exactly where they should be and the Chrome-Line interior adds luxury and visual appeal. The leather trimmed M steering wheel and gear knob know show virtually no wear and colour coded genuine BMW carpet mats have protected the carpets from new. The beautiful analogue dashboard houses fully functioning equipment including the on-board computer and optional stereo upgrade with boot mounted 10 CD changer. The immaculate boot area neatly stores the rear tonneau cover, original full toolkit, jack and warning triangle. A truly sensual experience.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The jewel in the crown is this silky-smooth refined and free-revving straight-six engine displacing 2.8 litres. Fitted as a factory upgrade, the 17in light-alloy wheels in round-spoke styling are unmarked and fill the wide-body flared arches beautifully. Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric tyres measuring 225/45 R17 to the front and 245/40 R17 to the rear have masses of tread with the fronts fitted in October 2024. Front and rear disc brakes, ventilated to the front, with anti-lock assistance (ABS) offer superb stopping power.
HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by BMW main dealers, Bridgegate Ltd of Derby on the 7th August 1998 to a Mr Allcock, this range topping 2.8 wide-body example has enjoyed a pampered enthusiast upkeep throughout. 14 stamped entries to the original BMW service book covering the miniscule 13,290 miles are validated by a thick A4 lever arch file of invoices, annual MOT certificates, old tax discs and BMW Car Club documents amongst other literature. The last entry was in April 2024 and the service indicator displays a full complement of green lights. All handbooks are present in the black A5 BMW folder along with the new car sales brochures from the period. A full set of keys and remotes are included still on the dealer supplied Bridgegate leather key fobs. A prime example from the iconic cult Z model range.
