VOLKSWAGEN T2 Early Bay Campervan 1972

VW T2 Early Bay Window Campervan. Family owned from new. My father bought this campervan new in January 1972 and it has been used for family holidays ever since. Extensively and lovingly renovated, it is ready for new adventures.

Right-hand drive, Dormobile conversion with side-raising roof and 4 berths:- 2 hammock beds (child/small adult) in the roof and rock and roll bed in rear. Original rear seating plan with double forward facing bench (with seat belts) and two original rear facing "buddy" seats, with foldaway table. All seats reupholstered in grey.
Bodywork fully restored 2014-16 by VW Endangered Species of Trowbridge, stripped of all components, bare-metal repainted in original VW red and undersealed. Air-cooled 1600cc engine (replacement of original) rebuilt 2016, (under 8,000 miles since rebuild) with new alternator, twin Weber carburettors, new exhaust and power steering.

Interior renewed with original layout by the VW Camper Company in 2017, including Dometic gas/electric fridge, twin gas hob, sink unit with electric water pump. Ample cupboard storage. Mains hook-up with inverter and two 13 amp sockets. Two 12v USB sockets and Alpine DAB Radio with speakers. New leisure battery 2024. Awning/sunshade included.
