Motodrome are pleased to offer this 1969 example of the stately Rover P5B Coupe, 3.5 V8 automatic.

All P5b’s, with the Rover V8 motor, PAS, and decent brakes, are supremely useable in modern-day traffic, and this one has also been fitted with electric fuel pump, manual choke conversion, and a modern DAB radio with USB port. It’s also fitted with front headrests.

Unusually, the V5 shows a mere 2 previous owners. The last owner has had it since 2020, and it has an odometer reading of 98000 miles.

It’s lost it’s stainless trims that run under the doors, but has very good panel fit etc. Paintwork wise I’d describe it as serviceable, as there are a couple of touched in areas and it has picked up one or two minor blemishes, The rear bumper is past it’s best.

At some point in the past, all four wheelarches have been fitted with liners, which seems to have gone a long way to help preserve it.

The interior seems to be largely original (albeit has been recoloured) and is in reasonably good shape all round, with no tears or split seams in the leather. At some point an owner has put burr walnut style veneers on the front door tops and glovebox area. Not to everyone’s taste but it is what it is.

Whilst we can’t warrant it, it appears from the history that the odometer reading of 80000 miles may well be correct.

Underbonnet, someone’s gone a bit mad with the red paint, but it’s fitted with K&N filters (we have the original airbox) and slighty more free-flowing exhaust manifolds.

History-wise, we have a selection of bills from the last owner, including the fitting of a reconditioned exchange automatic gearbox in 2021, and a recent new alternator.

It’s MOT.RFL, and ULEZ exempt, and is a very stylish way to get around.
