Morris Minor Traveller – Fully Restored Example

The Morris 1000 debuted at the 1948 Earls Court motor show with the Traveller following in October 1953. The ‘Woodie’ quickly became an iconic vehicle that was exported all over the world until production finally ending in April 1971

In 1989 Mr Ronald Blackman was holidaying on the Shetland Islands when he saw a Morris 1000 Traveller in the showroom at Sutherland Garage, it had just been traded against a new car. The garage owner planned to keep the car for himself but later that week Ronald called again and persuaded the garage proprietor to sell the car to him

Mr Blackman owned the car for over twenty years and during this period completed a high quality rolling mechanical & body restoration that has stood the test of time extremely well. More recently, the last owner replaced the Ash timber frame (to an extremely high standard) and the interior refreshed with replacement seat covers and carpets.

The large history file goes back to the late 1980’s with MOT’s/invoices supporting the mileage of 75,000 miles and indicating that the car has never been owned outside of Scotland – she still retains original Dundee District registration number.

Today the Traveller is super sharp – the rare black paint, new Ash frame, red interior, old English white wheels is a stunning combination - and the car could be driven anywhere with complete confidence.

Equally at home at summer shows, country pubs or running the recycling down to the local refuse centre we like this car and expect her to find an appreciative new home quickly…..
