Description

MGB V8 Roadster Conversion – Simply the Best

Milestone Classics are delighted to offer to market one of the nicest V8 conversions you will find on the market today and arguably the best incarnation of the original MGB Roadster that British Leyland, in their wisdom, never got around to manufacturing until the RV8

First registered on 1st April 1980 to a Miss Beatrice Barr our MGB was purchased in 1989 by Major M D Cooper, a Chartered Mechanical Engineer serving in the REME. Major Cooper embarked on a no expense spared full restoration and upgrading project using his own considerable skills and those of carefully selected craftsman who contributed along the way

A full body restoration took place with all panels and chassis components being sandblasted before being inspected, repaired/replaced and then repainted. The engine bay was modified to accept a fully re-conditioned Rover V8 engine and 5 speed gearbox with suspension, braking and cooling systems all being upgraded to MGB GT V8 specification and finally emerging from the restoration in 1991.

Used sparingly and with just 12,630 miles on the clock the V8 was declared for SORN between 2004/2011 when it was sold to John Russell who undertook a full chrome bumper/suspension conversion along with genuine Minilite Alloys.

In 2012 the ‘B’ passed to the most recent keeper, Ade Nursey, a Royal Navy Nuclear Engineer - he simply could not resist the build quality of the car. Maintained fastidiously for the past 7 years the car is a real testament to his knowledge and skill – produces 175BHP and simply looks, drives and sounds fantastic!

The huge history file telling the story of the car contains history back to 1980 including Passport to Service, all MOT’s & invoices, CD/pictures of conversion/restoration etc., etc. The MGB has now covered 31,000 since restoration and is an absolute pleasure to drive

Ready to be used and enjoyed we recommend a personal viewing, with test drive, as the only way this wonderful car can be fully appreciated.
