The previous custodian spent many ££££`s over the 10+ years he was the lucky owner to this beautiful, and increasingly rare little classic car, hence, today this car is now an excellent mid-point Cortina 1600E that starts and runs freely/easily.



The previous owner, in years gone by, used this car relatively frequently in the show seasons, so his main objective was in keeping the car good looking and reliable.



In my opinion there are no obvious signs of any serious visible corrosion to the upper body that I can see. Likewise, the engine seems to start and rev out easily enough, so I don`t envisage too many problems in getting her ready for the open roads once more.



Notwithstanding any of the above there are obviously some minor/light body and paint imperfections that you `may` wish to attend to but in my opinion, she appears fundamentally and predominately solid and most definitely perfectly usable as-is (after recommissioning) unless you are of a pedantic nature and/or perfection is your desired goal.



As a heads-up to the above you will find some minor paint imperfections here and there, bubbling under the paint and previous prep work starting to show through, but overall, she`s still a very pretty car. The underside looks very solid from my ground-level observation.



So, in summary this is a wonderful looking Ford Cortina 1600E that has been in storage and unused by its previous owner for a short while now but has never failed to start whilst in my possession. Very minor cosmetic TLC is obviously your prerogative but unnecessary in my view and most definitely not vital.

I am very keen to sell hence I have set a very realistic and easily achievable reserve especially considering their increasing values and that similar condition vehicles are regularly advertised for £18,000+…

As with all our cars, due to long term storage I would always strongly suggest a good going over/service/tune-up/recommissioning of all vulnerable and moving parts before returning them back to the open roads as they have not normally been used for some time and it would just be darn right silly not to on a modern car let alone a classic of a bygone era.
