Description

** THE POSSESSION OF A MARK 2 JAGUAR BY BEACHAM CARS REPRESENTS OWNERSHIP WITHOUT EQUAL **

Originally this Mark 2 finished production at the Coventry factory on the 7th April 1967 and rolled out as a manual 3.4 car in Opalescent Golden Sand with a contrasting red leather interior trim.

The car then made it's way to Henly's of London who supplied the car from new to Stapleton' Tyre Services of Watford on the 27th April 1967.

The car remained in the Uk until 1990 when Beacham cars in New Zealand were commissioned on behalf of Contental Motors in Hiroshima, to completely rebuild the car to it's world renowned levels. It was then that it had a bare shell restoration and was painted in opalescent Gunmetal with a new interior and retrim by G W Bartlett.

As one can imagine, no stone was left unturned in the build and the MK2 was thoroughly brought up-to-date with a five speed Getrag gearbox, air conditioning, Coombs rear spats, a completely rebuilt engine for use with unleaded fuel, power rack and pinion steering, central locking and halogen headlamps to name just a few of their signature touches.

After the Jaguar's 6 years in Japan, it then headed to Spain in 1997 where it resided in Marbella until 2011, before returning to the UK.

Since the cars restoration 28 years ago back in 90/91, the car has only covered 11,900 miles and thanks to it's owners and locations around the world, it has remained in outstanding condition throughout and a testament to the quality of Beacham's restorative works.

Since it's return to the UK, the car has continued to be updated with the inclusion of Coopercraft 4 pot disc brakes all round and wider Competition 72 spoke chrome-wire wheels wearing Michelin XVS tyres.

All in all, this stunning early Beacham restoration has retained all of the true character of the classic MK2, but thanks to their craftsmanship and wise choice of OEM+ upgrades, it is an extremely enjoyable and easy to drive modern classic set to only increase in value.

This MK2 would not look out of place in one of the finest car collections in the world and an opportunity to purchase Beacham's revised motoring icon do not come along often.
