A very honest example of a low mileage, early floor start Mk1 Mini. Presented in Dove Grey with recently re trimmed red & fleck interior. This Mini was purchased new from Comerford’s Ltd of Surrey by a Mr Hampton in February 1961 who enjoyed the car until passing it on to the second owner in 1988. The recent owner has had the car since 2013 and in his ownership has had the car fully repainted by Chamberlain’s Coachworks of Surbiton, Surrey. At this time the car also received a new floor pan and new front wings. The engine has also been completely overhauled recently including a re-ground crankshaft, new shells and pistons and re-bored engine, accompanied by a new dynamo, water pump and brake shoes. The original warranty certificate from 1961 is present confirming the original engine is still in the car. The original drivers handbook is also present along with a box file of invoices for the various work undertaken over the years. With values of these early cars rapidly on the rise, this represents great value and an opportunity to get into early Mk1 Mini ownership at a sensible price.
