1960 Morris Mini-Minor 850
Full Restoration, Clipper Blue, Early Mk1 Mini

We are pleased to offer what has to be one of the best early Mk1 Mini’s in the country. This charming little 850 was recently acquired from long term ownership in which the car had been completely restored to a very high level some years ago. Not happy with the final paint finish the recent owner has had the car stripped to bare metal, new door skins fitted and the whole car painted inside and out in its original Clipper Blue colour by renowned Paul Preston Classic Restoration. Invoices for this work carried out in 2018 are on file to a value of over £8,000 and a series of photos are also available documenting the whole 5 month process. The end result is a spectacular example of the Mk1, both mechanically and bodily. A heritage certificate is on file confirming the car is a home market De-Luxe car that left the factory in the current colour combo of Clipper Blue paint with Grey Fleck & Blue interior in September 1960. The car has had just 5 owners and copies of the original buff log book and past V5’s are present. Original Britax seatbelts have been located and fitted and the car also benefits from new period Dunlop SP tyres all round. New door cards and carpets were sourced from Newton Commercial but the seats are completely original from 1960 and add a nice touch to the otherwise like new new interior. Other nice features include original chrome window sliders, tin caps on the brake cylinders and brass dashpot seal. The brakes have been upgraded to disks on the front and all brake lines are new. The underneath has been completely overhauled with brand new shocks, Hi-low suspension recently fitted and all components replaced, painted or powder coated. A stainless exhaust is also fitted. A new old stock speedo has just been installed as the old speedo had stopped working (photos available) the car has now covered just under 90,000 miles.
Overall an exceptional Mini which has obviously had a top class restoration. The paintwork, chrome, engine bay and underside of the car ultra clean and the car is mechanically sound, driving superbly!
