This low mileage UK supplied Golf Cabrio 1.8 GTI manual Clipper was first registered on the 30/05/1990 making this one of the last run-out models made by VW. Meaning this example was equipped with the sought after and scarce options such as the electric hood & windows and also proudly featuring the grey leather upholstery and finished in the Blue

This particular example with only 75,000 warranted miles on the clock has recently seen a vast and extensive restoration throughout showing no expense spared whatsoever. The majority of which has been carried out by the reputable MK1 specialists 'Crazy Quiffs of Wallingford. Works of which calculate to circa £6,500. This includes a complete overhaul and rebuild of the gearbox and linkages, brand new genuine mohair hood & skin, drive belts, brake system and an oil change along with other niggly jobs on the electronics and so forth to make sure the car is operating and running 100% for the new owner to enjoy.
The bodywork and shell of the car is rust free, closer inspection of the underside has shown no signs of previous welding on either the sills, arches or chassis whatsover. The car throughout is completely straight and solid, photos of the underside are freely available to any interested parties and we welcome any mechanical inspections.
We've also had a full health check carried out by VW specialists 'VRT' of Slough. 4 Brand new Pirelli Cinturato P1's all-round have been fitted along with 4 wheel laser alignment and newly refurbished powder-coated oven-baked alloys. Long MOT expiring 10/11/20 with no advisories.

Then 1.8 8V engine runs beautifully smooth & responsive on the throttle with eager power delivery complete with a very nice exhaust note, the brakes operate as they should and the suspension and ride overall completes for a very satisfying drive, even better with the hood down on a summers evening. With residual values rising on the MK1 range this also would make for an ideal and enjoyable investment.
