The engine, gearbox and overall driving experience is a pleasurable and enjoyable one. The naturally aspirated 230BHP straight-six M54 engine runs quietly and smoothly with a beautiful subtle exhaust note to match. Pick up and throttle response is perfect and power is all there when you want it, kick down on the box all works as it should. There's no knocks or creaks on the suspension and it rides the road as BMW intended it to... Perfectly tight and direct with perfectly weighted responsive steering.
The engine bay is dry and leak-free, with none of the usual oily smell you get from the M54 blocks. We were also informed that car was always run on Super Unleaded.
