Description

An incredible XK 150 finished in indigo blue with red hide.
This car benefits from a full ‘Sayer’ restoration within the last 500 miles including a 3.8 litre engine, an uprated cooling system and brakes.
This XK 150 began life in January 1959 as a 3.4 litre standard car when it was dispatched to a Mr B Day registered SUJ 34. Between 1983 to 1985 it was in the hands of a German gentleman living in London, Hans Von Osterhausen, with bills in his name for some restoration work.
Mr M L Petit from Rome also appears as a subsequent owner, we are unsure if the car was in the UK or in Italy.
At some point the car was with Paul Andrew on Sandbanks.
In 1991 John Waite has a very thorough inspection of the car before agreeing to the sale, the mileage at that point was just 22,661. Waite really enjoyed this car, touring Norway the North Cape and Switzerland adding another 20,000 miles.

The Penfold connection enters the story in 2007 when it was bought by Julia Penfold, the original number plate had been retained by Mr Waite although Julia later tried, unsuccessfully to buy the number back. Julia spent a considerable amount of money with several specialists intending to enter historic rallying. It seems that the Penfolds were a determined family. Eventually in 2011 Ray Parrot took ownership before it was bought by Mike Wilkinson on behalf of Jeff Graham. Jeff is an avid Jaguar collector, Jeff started to use the car and although it was mechanically great the body wasn’t quite right for him. He instructed M&C Wilkinson to do a complete Sayer restoration which included a new body with a lot of attention paid to getting the panel gaps right. The engine and gearbox were subject to a cosmetic overhaul along with a rebuilt differential. The suspension, braking system and electrical systems were all overhauled too.

This is a superb XK 150 that would suit a serious enthusiast or collector.
